I'm very excited to be participating in Leslie Saeta's challenge this month - more detail here. Leslie is posting photos from her holiday in Italy on her Facebook page ARTISTS HELPING ARTISTS. Any artist may use as many of the photos as they wish and post the finished work on Leslie's blog during the month of August. There is no pressure to paint a certain number of paintings in a certain time, but of course the more you post, the more Leslie's SLICES OF LIFE readers see and the more possibility of sales. Leslie Saeta has a big following because of her popular Blog Radio show ARTISTS HELPING ARTISTS.
I will be following Leslie's postings and painting what speaks to me. These paintings will be posted for sale on Leslie's Blog SLICES OF LIFE and also on my DAILY PAINTWORKS GALLERY, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, the Daily Paintworks Facebook Page, and ...? Any ideas.
You may be seeing some quite unusual submissions from me. Above is a sketch of Leslie's travelling companions leaving from LAX. I wanted to do something completely different and decided to try cartooning. This was a very quick sketch, focussed not on likeness, but on mood. I particularly like the hairy legs and knees.
Leslie says she will be posting irregularly, so I will fill in days when she doesn't post with adding to my popular MOUSE Series I and II and of course my very popular ACEO Series. If you're on Facebook you can see the ACEO series here. PAINT A MASTERPIECE ACEO MINIATURES.
This blog posting event leads up to the Leslie Saeta's next 30 paintings in 30 days Challenge which starts in September. So as you can see, my next two months are going to be BUSY!
Here's to lots of good looking boys in shorts!
