JEFF KOONS
Born on January 21, 1955, in York, Pennsylvania, Jeff Koons studied at the Maryland Institute College of Art (BFA 1976), in Baltimore and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
I'm a bit at a loss what to say about this amazing artist. He is one of the highest grossing artists of our day. His work is eye popping and outrageous, but at the same time strangely intellectual. It appeals to my analytical and scientific nature. I also love that it is super clean, almost clinical. I certainly wouldn't mind one of his works on my front lawn.
On November 12, 2013, Koons’s Balloon Dog (Orange) sold at Christie's Post-War and Contemporary Art Evening Sale in New York for $58.4 million, above its high $55 million estimate, becoming the most expensive work by a living artist sold at auction.[1] From Wikepedia
