"Orchid Water Abstract I" is painted on Deep Gallery Wrap Canvas and doesn't require framing. I was working with Pantone's 2014 Colour of the year, Radiant Orchid and thinking of Venice. That must have come through in the paint because I can see water and bridges, fountains and moorings and is that the suggestion of a speed boat?. What do you see?

  1. I love this - the bright colors, the impression of water. I think of the boats that fight fires and spray the water high into the air. Haven't been to Venice - lol.

    1. Thank you. And yes, I think every water based city has the fire boats but I always think of Sydney because they often do parades with them and it is so spectacular.

  2. This reminds me of being out on a tour boat in the Chicago river. Just before you get to the locks that take you out into the lake, there is this gigantic spray of water that goes off every so often across the river. You'd get drenched, if the boat operator didn't know to stop.

    1. I've always wanted to visit Chicago. I always think of it as the closest place to Ireland in North America. I wonder what that spray is?

  3. Love it the flow of the waves reminds me of the weather some parts of the UK are experiencing at the moment. Colours are gorgeous. It's been a few years since I visited Venice.

    1. Thank you. I'm so in love with the water and have painted a lot of waves so perhaps that was coming through as well. I was thinking of Venice because I researching cities on the water and places with unique light. I've never been there either, only in my dreams.
