This painting is on display at the Lake Country Art Gallery Under $100 show. This year I'm giving my internet patrons the opportunity to purchase paintings which are in the show. This may be purchased by contacting me. I will check with the gallery to make sure it is still available and send an invoice via Paypal. As this is a fast moving show, you will have 24 hours to pay or the painting goes back on the wall. Whether sold online or through the gallery, I honour their commission until the end of the exhibition.
Thank you for your patronage.
THE ART OF GIVING
It's holiday season and it's important to mention that people in trouble often shrink away from letting on, especially now, because they don't want to "spoil" other people's Christmas. I've volunteered many times during the Christmas season and there are often more volunteers than people in need for this very reason. There is also a large helping of embarrasment involved when you can't afford to put food on the table, let alone gifts under a tree. I know this is true here in Kelowna and I bet it's the same in your area.
This means that you need to go out of your way to find someone lonely, sad, poor and needy and it will surprise you to hear it's probably someone you know well or they could live steps away. If everyone singled out one person to give a treat this week and encourage their friends to do the same, Christmas would be a happier time for everyone. The suicide count would go down and it will make you feel wonderful. :)
I have little to spare, but If at all possible I donate to the RED CROSS. I auction paintings for their disaster relief efforts and encourage others to support their wonderful work. I encourage you to find some small way to support a charity of your choice this holiday season. Don't sweep it aside or let it get lost in the deluge of events and arrangements. Even $1 counts.
THE RED CROSS
THE EXPERIENCE THAT CHANGED HOW I THINK ABOUT GIVING
Perhaps you could give your special person some of this home made recipe
Faux Baileys Recipe
1 and 2/3 cups Irish whiskey
1 cup 1/2 and 1/2
1 14 ounce can of sweetened condensed milk
2 tablespoons chocolate syrup
2 tsp. Vanilla extract
1tsp instant coffee. MIx in a blender for 30 seconds. I didn't do this I used a whisk and a bowl and that is it. It will last for two months in an air tight bottle in your fridge.
(from Jo MacKenzie's blog)
MY Recipe
2 XL Tim Horton's English Toffee or French Vanilla Coffee (the hot drink not the powder)
Chill
Add 2oz Irish Whiskey and 4oz Kahlua or Coffee Liquer
Refrigerate until served
You can play with this as to quantities and brands. You can also add half and half, whipping cream and/or condensed milk to play with the sweetness.
