This particular iPad drawing is enhanced with Pebeo iridescent orange/yellow, red/blue, blue/green and violet/blue, as well as Pebeo bindex DYNA violet iridescent and clear brushstroke finish. See Sept 13 for an explanation of the process.

I never get painters/writers block and I'm told that's a mark of a professional artist, that no matter how we feel, we carry on creating. I've been feeling a bit down though and while I was figuring out where it came from and how to get over it, I discovered that blocks and procrastination are probably a form of depression. That means that any time you get a block, the way to get through is to lift yourself up. There is much written about depression and how to treat it, so try them all and find one that works for you. Music is a great healer and singing is even better. Go for a walk in the forest or a swim. Call a good friend and go for lunch or coffee. Eat some comfort food. Treat yourself to a shopping trip (thrifting is great on an artists budget). Go to a free art demo or buy a new tool or paint color. The list is endless. Today I did most of the above, had comfort food lunch, bought new supplies, found a pretty blouse on sale, went for a drive, turned on a podcast and did some menial prep tasks. Now I feel pretty marvellous. I would love to hear what works for you, just add a comment.

I'm one of the artists taking part in the Leslie Saeta 30 paintings in 30 days challenge. This is the ninth time Leslie has held this event and I've taken part in each one. This is # seventeen of thirty iPad drawings that I plan to complete by September 30th.

I love the energy of this challenge and that it inspires me to create new work each day. I'm pleased to join challenge again and look forward to adding 30 new drawings to my Collection.
