I took this painting to the resting stage yesterday. I had applied a fair amount of texture underneath and then chose a purple and orange palette. The paint was thick and wet and any further work would have created a grey mess, so it was time to let it dry and darken before continuing.

Today I continued, applying coloured molding paste first, and after a short break I worked around the molding paste keeping close to the original purple and orange palette with a few surprises here and there. Towards the end I applied more texture and highlights. Sadly, you really can't see the depth and interesting quality of the texture in these images.

Although I painted it one way, when I finished I turned it to all four sides and I liked it each way, so I've signed it on the side to offer flexibility. My two favourite sides are these. Which do you like?
