| HEAVENLY SUNBEAMS Progress |
This painting was a brilliant red tree when I entered the studio and it came out blue. That sounds like one of those old jokes "What went upstairs black and white and came down red", but that's the magic of being an artist, you can create and change worlds at the touch of a brush.
I've had several sittings with this painting and was never satisfied when the paint dried and darkened. Today I decided to return most areas to Titanium white, but retain the general composition. I intended going green, but the painting had different ideas.
As for my 30 paintings in 30 days goal of playing with textures and mediums, here I used almost everything in my paint box over the many versions. The final layer is liquid acrylic, heavy body acrylic and acrylic ink but there is a great deal of gel and modeling paste under the surface.
