One way to make the best use of your time as an artist is to license manufacturers to use your designs or artwork. The manufacturer will have standard contracts and a lawyer on call to protect them, but don't assume that contract will protect the artist. You must put resources into protecting your rights. Don't assume and do get advice from a professional. However, before you start paying a fortune to a lawyer draw up a draft contract by using Google and adding every piece of legalize you can find that fits. For a start see below.
