CHALLENGES AND FOUR SEASONS IN THE COUNTRY

I know I said I was just going to paint portraits, pets and still lifes this month, but I wanted to pass on some challenges to my Artist followers. I have also had requests for more landscape paintings, so here are the four seasons of country life. For animal lovers, stay tuned, I have some coming soon and I have two new models to introduce you to.

Larger originals in the same series or prints may be available. To purchase any of these paintings or to view my Gallery please visit Daily Paintworks. "Buy Now" price available on any auction where bidding is not yet underway.

This is a monthly challenge posted on "Artistic Sentiments" by Dana Marie. You can paint the photo as is, or merely use it for inspiration. The photo invoked childhood memories of berry picking with my grandma. I eliminated the barbed wire because I wanted to the viewer to feel free to roam. I wanted to convey the sweet smell of the late summer meadow and the motion of the brambles gently swaying in the breeze. I love the colour which makes me think of berry yoghurt.

Here I used blue and lemon to convey the crispness of a spring morning. Cadmium and phthalo are camera shy. I will post a better photo soon.

A bit abstract with thick impasto paint. So much nicer in real life and I had so much fun with this one.

Where I live there are several beautiful old barns and this photo reminded me that I need to paint them before they are lost.
