This is another favourite painting of mine. SWEET MYSTERY is a floral abstract painted plein air at my favourite winery and named after one of their signature wines.
Every year the HOUSE OF ROSE winery hosts a month long celebration of local Artists and their work by inviting them to paint in the gardens and sell their work during the event. The only criteria is that you must paint plein air, but in exchange you get a canopy, table, chair and best of all a free glass of their delicious wine.
I must admit that the July sunshine plus the rosy glow of the wine made this quite a bit looser than my regular style. For added sparkle there is a tiny bit of bronze in the center of each flower. This painting works just as well displayed like this or lying on any one of it's four sides.
