Let there be light!

The smoke cleared a couple of days ago and everyone was out enjoying the sun, like a rain dance in the Gobi desert! It was just in time for the last summer music evening at my favorite winery, so I have to find another sundowner spot.

At the same time the local authorities decided that the linear park I overlook from my condo was becoming a fire and lightning strike hazzard as branches were only a couple of feet from the balcony. I awoke to see a workman shimmy up the 50 foot tree in front of my unit and merrily chop half of the giant limbs off. Sad to see the white wounds, but the difference in light qulity is amazing! So in one day my condo went from dim, gloomy and sealed up, to bright and sunny ... quite a shock.

The added bonus was that when I returned to my bedroom after all the excitement of the sunny balcony, I discovered I now had a mountain view through the trees and in the middle of it is a shining cross atop a shared building a few blocks away. Now I’m hoping they trim the even more giant tree at the end of the building so I can see my favorite mountain down the cleared space. I dont like hurting the trees, but the mood has certainly improved in the building.
