TO THE WORLDS - or how not to let age get you down

For the first two years I didn’t know her name. She fell so many times I thought it was “Are you all right?”
So said one of her fellow adult competitors.

If at all possible and you believe in dreams you should watch this movie and tell all your friends to do the same. My friend Wendy Ord is a BC film maker and like most professional artists she doesn’t let much stand in her way. Her latest production premieres on CBC TV at 9pm across Canada and at noon on the website. It’s a must see.

In her late fifties Wendy took up figure skating. She started with a tiny tots class and worked her way up to teens, then entered the world senior competition in Germany just short of her 60th birthday. Along the way she collected nine other over 40s friends who also competed. They brought home golds, silvers, and bronzes.

Being a film maker Wendy approached CBC with the story and they sponsored the project.

Amazing stuff!

Hopefully you can view the trailer and get links here or here

(Above are the skate marks from our local outdoor rink, one of the places the ladies used for practise in their journey. I intend using it to inspire an abstact some time this year.)
