I've been wanting to paint this boat for a while but I was a bit leery of it sitting in the middle of the composition. I tried to redesign the placement, but it just didn't look right, so here it is just as the photographer intended.
I used to be really intimidated by painting reflections in water, but I've learned to pay close attention to values and just paint what I see. I think this turned out rather well.
REMINDER:- I'm currently taking orders for Christmas. I have a limited amount of time slots to paint so feel free to give me plenty of lead time. You can use my small daily paintings as a guide and I'm happy to paint any in a larger format to suit your space. I also create portraits of pets or children which make wonderful gifts. I'm can multi-pack and ship directly to the recipient, so ask away.
