For some time Charlotte has hinting that I add movement to the foreground of my paintings in the form of animals or people. Birds are a common theme.
In “GOLDFINCH GOES TO THE ORCHARD” I added an American Goldfinch to this beautiful weeping cherry. The result is a much more lively painting than I would have achieved by painting the blossom alone. It has added interest and curiosity.
