Better Landscapes - Leaves and Sunflowers

I've been working on improving my landscape skills and specifically painting trees. While looking for a painting tutorial I came across a wonderful video on leaves, not painting them, but the science behind how they grow. Sometimes better painting comes from better observation and scientific knowledge and this short video is a real eye opener.

Then a video on painting Sunflowers popped up in the suggestions, so I watched that too. Sunflowers are similar to a poular local wildflower called Balsam or Arrowroot, which are in bloom at this time of year and cover the mountins in yellow.

Then there are these happy sunflowers dancing to the sunrise.

And lastly a more professional floral time lapse for inspiration.
