Curator Hanss Lujan - A Restless Earth

Welcome wall with color, quotation, canvas art and 3D installation

Lake Country Art Gallery is a well managed public gallery near where I live. It is a small gallery with a big presence in the community. LCAG moves beyond the bounds of “Gallery” as we know the term and integrates into the community by including local schools, public art projects, childrens activities, community fitness progams, talks, etc.

My work, STOLEN BEAUTY was accepted into the LCAG exhibition A RESTLESS EARTH. I recently attended the Curator’s Talk by Hanss Lujan and it was my first chance to see the exhibiton. It was beautifully staged with various methods including subject matter groupings, technology groupings for video and slideshow, color groupings and an impact wall on entry. For a small space, Hanss Lujan did a great job of introducing the subject and creating curiosity. The exhibition was very thought provoking. My favorite piece was an installation filled with various types of poluted water which is designed to naturally change over the period of the exhibition.
