I can’t remember where I created this, but its an oil pastel plein air work. The image could be better, but it gives you an idea of the simplicity of the work.
I’ve been striving for a long time to get this effect with acrylics. For some reason acrylics don’t suit the sparse compositions I love; they cry out for more contrast, or texture, or something ...... Oil pastels have more texture and less definition, so they seem suited to this style. Why I haven't used them more is a mystery.
