Acrylic on Cradle Board
Ready to hang
This landscape is part of my Okanagan series, destined for the Airport gift shop.
These views are much harder than they look to paint which is why most local artists avoid it. First I take photographs of local scenes. Of course they are never perfect, because there are buildings, telephone wires, mobile phone towers, highways etc. which I eliminate for esthetic reasons. I play God and move trees, change the light, rearrange flowers etc. and the result is the essence of the valley before man arrived. There are places that can be hiked to that look like this, but my energy is needed elsewhere these days.
If you love it, buy now because once at Skyway it will fly away, quite literally.
